National Resophonic Serial Numbers
If you need to figure out the exact year of your National Style-O guitar, use the serial number. See the National Serial Number Info web page for help determining the exact year. Mark Knopfler's National Style O has the serial number B1844 according to the official Mark Knopfler Guitar Styles books. National introduced the resonator guitar to the world in 1927, and it reflected the. Exactly how many is not known, but serial numbers suggest well over 5,000. I don't know about anything on-line, Steve, but if you want to date a National resonator guitar, look in the back of Bob Brozman's book on Nationals.

National did make a Estralita in the 30's but the Estralita Delux and Resolectric are both NRP models. I don't know about the Resolectric, but the hollow body NRPs like the Estralita should have a label that you can see if you peek in thru one of the F hole (right one I think?). Gruhn's Guide to Vintage Guitars indicates that the Resolectric was probably made after 1990, but that serial number doesn't correspond with what is listed in the book.
